These photos were taken on a Sunday morning in Bray, with my back to the Irish Sea, the same sea so many women would have had to cross to maintain their bodily autonomy. This piece was made before the Referendum.

The Artists’ Campaign to Repeal the Eighth Amendment was founded by artists Cecily Brennan, Eithne Jordan, Alice Maher and poet Paula Meehan in 2015. it called for a repeal of Article 40.3.3 of the Irish Constitution which equated the life of a pregnant person with that of the foetus which effectively banned abortion. it was repealed in 2018 following a referendum.
